Ok,
So it's true. I'm totally addicted to chocolate, the chocolate Full Strength nutrition shake.
Now for those of you who know me, you might be saying... "come on Rob, no shameless product plugs for that product you and Shawn have been working on..."
But I just can't help it. And well, if it weren't worth sharing I wouldn't be writing this right now. Believe me I've got truck loads to be doing. But this is important and its of value to whomever is reading this.
Lately I've been upping my 2 shakes a day to 3. Yes that's right. I just can't seem to get enough of this chocolate shake that quite frankly tastes like melted chocolate ice cream.
For those of you who might be a fan of chocolate, you too might want to look into this perfectly balanced "chocolate love" - as I'm starting to call it.
Why?
Well, I've watched a friend, mentor, boss, and fellow integral practitioner Shawn Phillips drop close to a million dollars into this product. Let me give you a reference point, because this is extremely important. The average supplement company will put 20 to 30 thousand dollars into developing a new nutritional supplement.
30,000 verses close to a million dollars. You do the math.
I don't know of any other food on planet earth with this kind of investment.
And we're not talking about some unconscious business guy who's throwing money at something just because he can. This simply isn't the case.
We're talking about one of the few people whom I can genuinely point to as an exemplar for the integrity, passion and awareness he brings to his life. He's dedicated to service in a way that our world so desperately needs. Rock on Shawn!!
Thank goodness the Formless Pregnant Void is giving birth to this guy moment to moment (for the time being of course)...
Anyway, this product of service is impacting me in more ways than I can share in one sitting, but I'm getting leaner, my nutritional awareness has been effortlessly elevated, I'm stronger, more resourced day in and day out, I'm more productive, I'm happier... the list goes on!
Yes, all that from fueling the body and mind with what is the only "integrally informed" performance engineered food on planet earth.
But this whole leaner thing is kind of crazy. To be honest I don't think I've ever hit double digits in terms of my body fat %. Although I might have been close in grad school living off of pancakes and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches 6 times a day. Yea, I might have been pushing that 9-10% barrier. But I usually float somewhere around 8% body fat range.
Not that I track this diligently, but i have a pretty good sense visually when I look in the mirror. Lately though I've been trimming down and down and down. I'm not changing much of anything but the more I have this shake the leaner I'm getting.
Now I'm not going to complain, but for those who believe getting really lean is hard diligent work, with no deviation from a strict rigid nutritional plan that does not include the words "big ass chipolte burrito with extra chicken and guac" and "3/4 of a loaf of chocolate chip banana bread" or "rich chocolate brownie extravagonza at midnight" have got to see through the myth!
6-7% is friggen easy. Now I've got quite a few other healthy habits & rituals in place, but seriously drinking my delicious chocolate shake 2-3 times a day is something that effortlessly moves me in the right direction.
In fact it appears that even mother nature herself might be outdone. One of Shawn's friends who runs NutritionData.com tried hard to come up with a more balanced, nutritionally dense and healthy whole food meal than Full Strength.
The results: he came up short. And we're talking about some very intelligently prepared and also quite bland meals that were pieced together solely to compete with Full Strength.
We're still looking for a whole food meal that can genuinely compete with Full Strength on quality of nutrients, satiation, and caloric density along with a few other measures but nothing has yet to come out on top...I'll be sure to fill you all in if something does surface.
So, is this for you though? Well, let me put it this way.
If you happen to have taken a physical form that requires nurishment. There's a really good chance you might benefit from this nutrition shake that quite frankly is second to nothing on earth... and if you like chocolate, well that's just icing on the cake (there is a vanilla too, which is also really good), then I suggest you give this puppy a try.
Ladies, it says "for men" but if you're like so many out there already, just drink 3/4 of a shake and you'll be just fine - that is if you can stop yourself from finishing it!!!

Chocolate Rules, there’s no question about that! Thanks for the Chocoladvocacy, Rob!
Okay, so I’m watching the conflicting emotions coursing through my body-mind as I read this post. I’m sure some of it is originating in my mean green meme side, feeling a bit pissed-off about reading a product ad.
Will Zaadz just become a place where we all sell our integrally informed tchotchkes to each other? (as tasty as they may be!)
On the other hand, the capitalism focus of this site was one of the the things that attracted me to it and made me feel that it had a well rounded, integral feel to it.
I’ll also admit to having tried to find the Full Strength shake here in Canada, and so far haven’t seen it. So at least you’re talking about something that already interests me.
And, of course, this is a blog post and not a spam email that someone sent me, so it was my choice to keep reading, and not “change the channel.”
And there’s a certain level of jealousy going on, because there’s no way that I have enough money in my bank account to be drinking 3 of those expensive things a day! (I don’t know the price in the US, but nutrition shakes in Canada usually go for somewhere close to $4-$6 a pop.)
Anyway, I just thought it would be interesting to outline the variety of electrical signals that fired off as a result of the nature of this post. And in fact, I’m not criticizing the post at all (as long as you send me a sample! :-))
Getting down to the product itself, it would be interesting to taste it. Frankly, I have yet to taste a nutritional shake (including Shawn’s former Myoplex) that I would put in the category of “tasting good.”
I’ll admit that Myoplex tastes better than some of the competition, but I’m waiting for the day that I don’t get that weird chalky taste (that it seems the developers usually try to cover up by making the shake way too sweet.)
The day that I get a fine Belgian dark chocolate nutrition shake will be the day that I feel the quest has come to a happy end.
Although there is a lot of controversy about the need for these things to begin with, and whether they are just a money grab by their producers, I have to say that I find them really helpful.
My work often requires me to be in 3 or 4 locations a day, and I often have to travel or work at meal time, so convenient, quick (and truly tasty) sources of nutrition are welcomed by me.
So I’ll happily commit my critical palette to the taste test on this new one, and hope for a gustatory experience that is just as beneficial as the nutritional one.
Thanks for your passion on the subject.

dang! so where do i leave my credit card number? those $0.99 Cliff Bars are toast! :)
Alrighty… I guess I'll pipe in.
As someone whose friends have at times called the most skeptical person they've ever met, I was skeptical when I first saw Shawn post about Full Strength on his blog.
The shakes are indeed badass. I'm a chocolate freak, and the chocolate shakes are the best chocolate protein shakes I've ever had. For whatever reason, I do prefer the vanilla, though.
If you Google/Froogle around, you can find the shakes for cheaper than from the site Shawn links to on his blog. Unfortunately, when I went to reorder, the site I ordered from was out of chocolate and seem to stil be out. I'm definitely going to set up recurring orders for the stuff.
I normally eat very low glycenic, yet I've found no negative repurcussion from full Strength, despite being higher in “carbs” than I would normally eat. Also, 300 calories of Full Strength is far more satiating for me than 300 calories of any other shake I've tried (admittedly only a handful).
I'm definitely sold.
Coolmel, If you remind me, I'll bring you a sample next time we grab lunch.
-D
I would already have a box of this stuff in my house if I had been keeping up with Shawn's blog. Thanks for the heads-up, Rob. I'll be placing an order soon.
The drink mix looks awesome. As you can see from my pic, I actually need to gain weight. Has anyone used this stuff, along with lifting, to put on some pounds?
